The scariest event in Essex presents….. Cursed

 Over a hundred years ago, the Haverstock family lived in a big house in a sleepy village where they employed the town folk to work their land. The loyal workers were not only rich in food but in happiness. As a way of showing gratitude for an abundant crop and their laborious hard work, the Haverstock family booked an annual celebration and invited Cirque Du Park to the village, their was an air of fun, life was good.      

 Until the year of 1909, heavy rain ruined the harvest and the villagers were destitute. The family went hungry, the town was encased in a deep cloud of starvation and shame, Cirque Du Park was cancelled, but they still came… without an invite.

They came, they went, what they left behind were the…. Cursed

‘I Love You’ Romantic Quest

Love is in the Air at Weald Country Park as lovers, and nature lovers, take part in this ‘lovely’ self guided trail to discover the famous love poetry and quotes tucked away in romantic corners of the park. Come to the Visitors Centre between 11am and 3pm to pick up your Valentines Day Quest map and enjoy a romantic ramble as you go in search of inspiration on the best way to say ‘I Love You’. Entry £4, suitable for families, couples and adventurous singles in search of love. Every entry returned to the Visitors Centre will receive a sweet treat as a reward for taking part.

Time:  Any time between 11.00am and 3.00pm

Love your bird’s week presents….

Bird identification for beginners and basic binocular training

Come along to Weald Country Park which is lucky to be the home for a wide array of different types of bird. The Rangers will be showing anyone interested in identifying birds how to get the best out of their binoculars, and the key skills needed to tell one bird from another. Binoculars will be provided. Please wear warm outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.

Join the Rangers at the Visitors Centre to find out why nest boxes are so important, and how you can make one to take home. Fun for all the family learning how to put together the perfect house for our feathered friends to bring up their brood in.
